Martial arts are like a mountain. See top. And you hike and you climb, and you finally reach the top, and you realize it was a false top, and there's a whole new mountain range ahead of you. You train to be a warrior, not a fighter. The warrior knows what he can release, so he chooses the path of peace and respect.

About

Mohit Kumar runs the academy day to day and still teaches on the mat. He holds a 5th Dan black belt from the Kukkiwon, sits on the Uttar Pradesh association as its joint secretary, and is treasurer of the Lucknow district body.

He officiates as a national referee. That has taken him to the National Games and to National Championships, and to the school and university competitions that feed them — the CBSE and ICSE national meets, and university trials. Refereeing at that level is what keeps the academy honest about its own standards: the rules applied to a player in Lucknow are the rules they will meet at a national.

He also runs events rather than only officiating at them. Championships hosted by the academy and by the district association, and the gradings themselves — colour belt promotions through to black belt examinations, where the syllabus the centres teach is actually tested.
